Should a person who wants to try natural healing remedies ask their doctor about natural healing? While most people would not hesitate to consult a doctor about natural remedies, there are some who are skeptical about getting the opinion of a practitioner of modern medicine about natural healing methods. Would your doctor give you statements that will simply discourage you from trying natural remedies?

There are doctors who believe that a combination of natural and conventional medicine is good for a person who wants to achieve a healthy lifestyle.  Such doctors will not mind giving advice on the kind of natural remedies that could be used to promote health and combat illnesses.  When asking a doctor about natural remedies, you are actually giving him an idea about the kind of person you are, that is, someone who truly cares about his health. Doctors know that there are things that are beyond their control and illnesses that cannot be cured by conventional medicine. In such cases, they may very well recommend the use of alternative medicine, like natural remedies, which can be the key to your recovery.

If you are planning to ask a doctor about natural remedies, you should ask about the pros and cons of using the natural remedies in comparison to conventional medicine. Doctors who are open minded and who are honest enough to admit that there are indeed some benefits to be gained from the use of alternative medical treatments will most likely tell you the advantages and disadvantages of the natural remedies you are considering.  Sometimes, when asking a doctor about natural remedies, you may get negative answers that seem to be false. This may be due to the fact that some doctors do not want to lose their patients, since the patients will not consult them anymore if they find a natural remedy that works.

Despite the fact that some doctors may mislead you with vague answers to your questions for fear of losing a patient, you should not hesitate to ask a doctor about natural remedies. There are some things you may not understand about the concept of natural healing, and since doctors know there are natural remedies that work, you may get a professional opinion about certain natural remedies and natural living trends that are widely used. Who knows, you may even be the person to help open up a doctor’s mind to natural healing methods when asking a doctor about natural remedies.

I would consider them to be severe as you describe your symptoms and how they impact your life. There are treatments your doctor can prescribe (often in the way of anti-inflammatory drugs and birth control pills to regulate your cycle), and I would definitely recommend you go back to your doctor for further discussion. Now, about over the counter stuff, it's important you NOT take more than the bottle indicates. You can hurt your liver, stomach, or other organs. I know of no magic remedy in the way of an herbal drug, and sometimes those things can be quite dangerous as they are not overseen by our government the same way as prescription drugs. Please be totally upfront with your doctor and know you are not simply a wimpy, weak female. Lots of females suffer from bad cramps.

    low test // July 13th, 2010 at 12:16 pm

Low Test, First of all let me tell you I have been taking testosterone injections and using Andro Gel for over 12 years and the Endocrinologist who prescribed Test for me told me I would have to use it the rest of my life and I fully intend on doing just that. Contrary to what you hear or read on the internet or from people who know nothing about testosterone replacement therapy, TRT – there are "absolutely no adverse side effects" from taking TRT. None! The testosterone in the injections is exactly the same as what your body makes naturally and all you are doing is replacing what your body is not producing. However having said that, there is one side affect if you plan on having children because it will lower your sperm count and you'll become virtually infertile. So if you want children have them first before taking Test. This infertility can be reversed if you stop taking Test but it will take awhile for your body to recuperate, at least 8 weeks or more, probably more like a couple months. The only way to find out for sure if your Test is low or why it is low is to have a blood test measuring several factors that could cause low test, e.g. your LH & FSH hormones, prolactin, the aromatase enzyme, & your testicles production. My diagnosis was "idiopathic hypogonadism" which means the reason is unknown why my testicles were not functioning normally. Ironically my doctor is in WV but might not be close to you since he is in Petersburg and also in Mt Storm. He's at the VA clinic in Petersburg and his private practice in Mt Storm, Dr. Alan Kunkel but my advice would be go see an Endocrinologist or a Urologist, not some general practitioner. There are also Hormone Replacement Therapy Clinics in some of your larger cities that specialize in this. If you need any more information you can contact me @ fototag@rocketmail.com I'm very familiar with TRT and also the use of steroids having used both in the past 20 yrs.
P.S. If you go to the following site they have a section on HRT where you can read about personal experiences from guys who are using Test & HGH.Hormone Replacement Therapy, Longevity, Wellness, Anti-Aging, Alternative Medicine < http://forums.steroid.com/ >
